Which Radio control receiver and transmitter set is best for the money?

I was looking at buying a radio control system with a remote and a receiver that you can plug servos into. Is their a good set that includes the remote and receiver and maybe a few servos? I wanted 6 or more channels. The application will vary from robotics and kinda anything that comes up. I want a good system that won't cost too much.

My personal favorite, anything from Spektrum. Spektrum offers a good variety of packages ranging from 3 channel car radios to 7 channel airplane and heli radios.
For a 6 channel go for the Spektrum DX6i. The 6i is a full range (near 2000km or out of visible range) 6 channel transmitter that comes with a 6 channel receiver and 4 micro digital servos. The package retails for $209.99. Spektrum offers you the confidence of interference free operations using 2.4Ghz. So you wont have to worry about receiving interference from others near by or creating interference.
